This place is also very close to Lonavala. Near the village for camping at Taila Baila, there is the Tail Baila Fort where rappelling and rock climbing activities take place.
Tail Baila Fort was originally a watchtower fort built to monitor the surrounding areas. It is built by joining two tall rocks, with a height of approximately 200 – 250 feet.
By trekking here, one can reach the temple of Lord Shiva situated at some height. There is no direct path to go above this temple, and one has to do rock climbing to reach the fort above.
Tail Baila Fort is also a great place for camping. Here, you can have a wonderful experience of watching the beautiful rows of stars in the sky at night.
After talking to some villagers, we were ready to camp at Tail Baila with our families and friends, setting up tents under the open sky. It was a rice field whose crop had already been harvested, but the rice bundles were still lying in the fields.
Cooking food by lighting a fire in the open was a fantastic experience in camping at Taila Baila. The twinkling of fireflies added to the ambiance.
There’s nothing better than camping in such a beautiful lap of nature with family and friends. We kept talking until late at night.
The weather was also very pleasant. Living with limited resources at Taila Baila and sleeping in tents has its own charm.
The morning at Tail Baila was also very beautiful. The weather was a bit chilly, so we woke up early and sat by the fire, waiting for the sunrise.
We had heard that watching the sunrise in camping at Tail Baila is extraordinary. After a while, a reddish hue started appearing behind the mountains in the sky.
The rice fields near our camping site started shimmering in the golden light of the sun. Now the sunrise had happened, and I had never seen such a beautiful sunrise before. The sun, emerging amidst the mountains, was creating a mystical aura around the natural landscape.
The morning sun, in the cool weather, was giving a pleasant warmth. We started packing up our tent because it was time to head back. The camping experience at Tail Baila was fantastic. The people in the village were also very kind and helpful.
We had breakfast in the Tail Baila village itself. After living through memorable moments and spending quality time in the lap of nature, we headed back towards our residence in Pune.
For camping at Tail Baila, it would be better to arrive a little early and scout the camping spot. Talking to the villagers for guidance would be helpful. Tail Baila is a very safe place for camping, so you can bring your family and children along. For rock climbing and rappelling, you will need to inquire a bit.
It’s advisable to seek assistance from experts. Also, the mobile network is not very reliable in Tail Baila, so make sure to take care of any network-related tasks before coming for camping.
