Trip to Vagamon – The Hidden Gem of Kerala

Vagamon is a beautiful hill station in Kerala, located in the Idukki district. This place is really the hidden gem of Kerala. Compared to other popular tourist destinations in Kerala such as Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey, Vagamon experiences relatively fewer crowds.

Surrounded by mountains on all sides, Vagamon is rich in natural beauty and tranquility. The paragliding and off-roading activities here are major attractions. Although Vagamon is still relatively less explored, it is no less impressive from a tourism perspective compared to any well-known hill station. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here.

I am sharing my experiences of visiting Vagamon during our Kerala trip so that everyone can gain insights about this destination –

➥Paragliding
Paragliding is the most prominent and attractive tourist activity in Vagamon. Adventure sports enthusiasts from around the country and the world come here to experience paragliding.

The lush green hills, beautiful valleys, and tea gardens of Vagamon make this experience even more special. When you visit, the sky is often filled with colorful paragliders. These flights, which last about 15-20 minutes, offer immense excitement and joy.

The Pine Forest, located on the slopes of the hills, is a great spot to visit. This area in Vagamon, filled with tall, towering pine trees, is favored for photography.

You enter these beautiful woods through narrow paths that weave between rows of shops. I really enjoyed this place. We also did some photography here.

This has been my favorite spot in Vagamon. The large expanse of undulating grassy meadows makes it an excellent place to spend quality time. Vagamon Meadows is adorned with a variety of beautiful trees, plants, and flowers.

There are also great facilities for zip-lining and rope cycling here. We enjoyed both zip-lining and rope cycling. There is also a small pond where you can go kayaking.

This place is ideal for picnics with family. We spent a long time sitting in the meadows, enjoying the weather and the beautiful natural scenery.

Off-roading is also a popular activity in Vagamon. There’s a unique thrill in driving a jeep over rugged, mountainous terrains. There are several spots here where you can enjoy this adventure. It’s one of the most exhilarating activities and is particularly popular among young tourists.

➥Tea Gardens
Vagamon is home to some beautiful tea gardens. Wherever you go here, you’ll find these stunning gardens. I enjoyed taking photos in these tea plantations.

Along the edges of these gardens, there were also guava trees, from which we picked and ate fresh guavas.

➥Adventure Park

Vagamon’s Adventure Park is also popular among tourists. Here, you can enjoy activities such as ATV rides, trampolining, zip-lining, rope cycling, wall climbing, and archery.

There is also a glass bridge that visitors particularly enjoy. The environment here, rich in natural beauty, is very pleasant. This place is especially great for children.

We enjoyed our visit to Vagamon. Compared to other hill stations in Kerala, it has a more peaceful atmosphere. The environment in Vagamon is very soothing and also offers a great option for adventure enthusiasts. If you visit here, you will undoubtedly have a great experience.
