In the Maval taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra, Pawna Lake is a favorite spot for adventure enthusiasts and those interested in activities like camping and water sports. Pawna Lake Camping site is situated on the bank of pawna lake. It is an artificial lake formed due to the construction of the Pawna Dam.
Located approximately 60 kilometers from Pune and about 120 kilometers from Mumbai, Pawna Lake is situated between Mumbai and Pune. This lake is also very close to the famous hill station of Lonavala in Maharashtra. We have often heard about Pawna Lake being a beautiful place and a popular destination for camping.
After reading initial information about this lake, I started to feel like camping on the shores of Pawna Lake. The Diwali holidays made it easy for us to plan a camping trip to Pawna Lake. With our work colleagues and family members, we set off from Pune towards Pawna Lake Camping site in our car. We had all the necessary camping equipment with us, such as tents, tools like torches, large water cans, fire-starting tools, food supplies, etc. After a journey of about 2 hours by car, we reached near Pawna Lake.
There are many camping spots along the shores of Pawna Lake where you can book and go. Here, facilities for food, drinks, and accommodation in the camp are available. However, we decided not to use these facilities and instead brought our own tents and food and drinks.
The real fun of adventure is when you set up your own tent and cook your own food over a fire in a natural environment. In the process of finding a good spot for camping, we found a place on a hill near the lake that was very suitable for setting up camp. From this spot, we could see the beautiful view of Pawna Lake in front of us.
